Fast-track your MBA

Already have an Australian bachelor degree in Business or Commerce? You may be eligible to fast-track your MBA and finish in as little as 18 months. If you are eligible to fast-track your studies, you will only need to complete nine core units (180 credit points), without a specialisation. Students completing the 12-unit MBA will complete all of the core units as well as a three-unit specialisation of their choice, or three electives

Entry criteria

Admission requirements

To gain entry to the Master of Business Administration online you will need:

  • A bachelor degree or equivalent ​AND​ ​
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant supervisory/management experience​​

OR

  • Equivalent prior learning including at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 of those years at supervisory/management level.
  • Applicants must also meet English Language Requirements (Band 4). This can include IELTS Academic - Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0).

Fast-track your Master of Business Administration

Eligible students can fast-track their Master of Business Administration and complete their degree in nine units (180 credit points) by applying* for recognition of prior learning. To gain entry to the MBA (Fast-Track), applicants must:

  • Have an Australian bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Business/Commerce.^
  • Have a minimum of three years of relevant supervisory/management experience.
  • Meet English Language Requirements (Band 4). This can include IELTS Academic - Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0).

*To gain entry to the fast-track masters, students must apply after they accept the offer for the 12-unit masters. Applications for the fast-tracked master degree are subject to ECU’s assessment.  

^Bachelor degree must be completed within the last 10 years.

Dr Judy Lundy

Director of the Master of Business Administration program at the School of Business and Law

Dr Judy Lundy has a long career in the education, consulting and hospitality sectors and has taught HRM, Organisational Behaviour and Change Management in leading business and hospitality schools in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the Netherlands.

Dr Lundy is passionate about building adaptive, inclusive and thriving workplaces through developing inclusive leaders and workplace practices which maximise benefits for individuals and organisations. Her aspirations as a faculty member in the School of Business and Law are to help shape future leaders who will help transform workplaces to meet the needs of increasingly diverse workforces. She has a DBA from University of Newcastle, an MBA (HRM) from University of New England and a Bachelor of Adult Education from the University of Canberra.

Fees and FEE-HELP

The cost of our Master of Business Administration is $57,800* for all 12 units.

The cost of our Master of Business Administration (Fast-Track) is $43,580* for nine units.

To assist with some or all of your tuition fees, FEE-HELP is available for eligible students. This government-supported loan scheme is designed to help eligible full-fee paying students pay their postgraduate tuition fees.

How long does an online MBA take?

ECU’s accelerated online MBA consists of 12 units and can be completed in as little as 24 months. Students who are eligible for our Fast-Track option can complete their MBA in 18 months (see Entry Criteria for more information).
